This interactive wall piece has been designed by Farah Bandookwala using Cloud9 which is Anarkik3D’s intuitive 3D modelling package, designed for creative people for concept development, sketch-modelling and designing. Anarkik3D develops software applications using virtual 3D touch, with a haptic device taking the place of the standard mouse to provide more natural and familiar 3D interactions.
This makes Cloud9 easier to learn and use than any CAD package. It is surprisingly affordable, with the software and hardware sold together for less than £500. It is engaging and pleasurable to use for both those intimidated by CAD programmes and for seasoned CAD users. Farah used Rhino for structural design parts and Cloud9 to create the organicness of the forms.
The latest version of Cloud9 – 2.1 was released earlier this year and the bundled software – Cloud9/Falcon haptic device – can be purchased from A1 Technologies (branded as ‘Chameleon’). Cloud9 is downloadable from here.
