Set-up instructions: Step-by-step installation of Anarkik3DDesign V3.1 for PCc and for MACs
Set-up Checklist:
- Your computer and its performance meet the recommended specifications
- You have purchased Anarkik3DDesign’s haptic Cloud9 software & have your own activation and licence codes
- You have downloaded the correct Cloud9 software, either for PC or for Mac
- Your Falcon Haptic device (essential to Anarkik3DDesign) is plugged in
Anarkik3DDesign V3.1 is for life – there are no time limitations on this version, no yearly subscriptions. Updates are free, upgrades will incur a fee.

Set-up instructions for download and activation of V3.1 for PC:
Made sure that your PC can run Anarkik3D Design before purchasing the software license for Cloud9. We email the codes to you – please make sure we have your correct email. Be aware that the license is specific to one computer and cannot be shifted to another. For the ‘set-up’ process you need your License ID and Password to hand.
Step 1: Download Anarkik3DDesign’s Cloud9 software for PC directly into File Explorer and save into your preferred folder on the computer you will use for this programme.
Step 2: Plug in your Falcon haptic device. The Novint Falcon device has a standard USB 2.0 connection and is now plug and play – no driver downloads or set up is necessary any more.
Step 3: Set up Cloud9 Software: click on ‘Setup’ or ‘Setup.exe’ file. In the Cloud9 Setup Wizard please follow the instructions.
If you see this pop-up window regarding C++, just close it.
With everything set up, your Falcon plugged in and powered, your activation codes handy, and online, you are ready to set up Anarkik3DDesign. Tick the Launch Cloud9 box in the final window and click Finish to set up.
If you encounter the pop-up below, advising that Windows Defender SmartScreen (or similar) prevented ‘an unrecognised app’ from starting, please be assured that running this app does not put your PC at risk. Go to more info and click on Run Anyway.
Step 4: Activate Cloud9 online: you will be prompted with a message box, as shown. With your activation codes handy click Activate Cloud9.
Select the Activate Online option and follow the instructions. This will register you as a user and will allow us to notify you of updates and upgrades.
Enter your valid License ID and Password in this popup window, and click ‘Continue’.
Successful Activation: you will be informed through the status bar in the popup window and you can now use Anarkik3DDesign.
IMPORTANT: When the Splashscreen appears, with the ‘Anarkik3D’ logo, push the Falcon fully in and pull out fully to make the Falcon’s cursor move. Be vigorous! This makes sure the Falcon connects to Cloud9 so when the interface opens, by moving the grasp of the Falcon, the cursor moves too. You are now set up to begin 3D designing and modelling.
Incorrect License ID or Password
If the numbers entered are incorrect, this message will be displayed. Click Back and re-enter the codes. If still a problem please contact us for further assistance on our email support address. Please note and report the displayed Error message and Error Code.

Instructions for users of Cloud9 V.2 or earlier
If you have an earlier version of Cloud9 (v2 or earlier) installed on your system it is crucial that you uninstall it before installing the latest version.
- To uninstall go to Start Menu->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs. Select Cloud9 and click remove.
Once you have purchased the upgrade and installed this latest version, that is Anarkik3D Design V3.1, you will need to convert your previously saved files:

- Duplicate your file to create a back-up

- Open the file in your newly installed version of Cloud9 software
- Save and re-open it before undertaking any new tasks

This procedure will convert your previous ly saved files to the new data structure and allow you to take advantage of features such as ‘units’, boolean, slice, mirror etc.
Set-up instructions for download and activation of V3.1 for Macs
Made sure that your Mac can run Anarkik3DDesign before purchasing the software license for Cloud9. We recommend that if your Operating System is not High Sierra that you upgrade to High Sierra. Cloud9 Mac is written for OSX High Sierra. It should run fine on a MacBook with this OSX upgrade and with the more recent Mojave.

Depending on what you prefer, here is a link to a short video about downloading and setting up Cloud9 software for Mac and below are the instructions:
Step 1: Download Anarkik3DDesign’s Cloud9 software for MAC.
(There are no apps or drivers to download as the Falcon is fully ‘plug and play’ with Anarkik3D Design but you might need a USB adapter to connect the Falcon to your Mac.)
Step 2: Click on the Download icon top/right hand corner of your screen and a Download window will open to show you its status. Click on the file to get to the Downloads folder and open the ‘cloud9Mac.dmg’ file there (and then close the Downloads folder)
Step 3: Open the file created on the Desktop and drag and drop ‘Cloud9’ into the Applications folder, then Cloud9 and a further window will give the option to open Cloud9 which opens the ‘Activate Online’ window. (You can close the Applications folder.)
Step 4: Enter your License IP and your Password, the activation one. You can also add an Installation Name. Click on ‘Activate’ and with your Falcon securely connected and with power on, you will briefly see a mottled background and a notice that Online Activation is successful. Click OK.
