“I really am surprise at this-evenings short session…3 rings in 5 minutes that were part intention, part accident, but look rather like pieces I have in other materials…exciting!
It is starting to feel like a sketchbook?!!” (8/2/2018)
“My last order went through first time!!! 12 new pieces, ready for hacking, maybe I should call it ‘adornment’?!
The truth is, I am having such a mentally stimulating time as this has provided both freedoms and challenges which make things so much more enjoyable.
It was important to get things wrong a bit as it gave me some boundaries to be aware of. However that could be an area to re-visit down the line.
Who knew a simple shift for a technological illiterate might be so simple? It is harder to get to grips with the PC than your programme!” (19/4/2018)
Stefan Witte Professional Photographer and Designer
“… liked it specially because of the simplicity and the restrictions, because of that, they said you are more prepared to explore the whole programme and go to the far end to get out every possible thing. You have to be more creative to get out what you want. Better than when you have a complex programme with so many possibilities of which you use only a small part and cannot remember how you did things last time.”

“I attended a taster class in June, then the 3 day intensive course in July last year and loved playing with the haptic device and Cloud9 (Anarkik3D Design package). It is extremely fun and playful. I love the fact that you can feel the object that you have designed on the screen with the haptic mouse. It makes you feel like you are physically sculpting the objects in front of you. It’s a more creative way of designing rather than the complicated actions and numbers of using CAD and Rhino. I used the haptic Anarkik3D Design system in February this year, after not using it since the course in July. I was very impressed by what I remembered and how easy it was to get back into using the programme again. I would definitely recommend using Anarkik3DDesign programme if you want to try something new, have fun and take time to play.”
Wilson P.K, Fashion Design Student
“I came to Edinburgh this beautiful city to study programme “Anarkik3D Design” and 3D printing in March 2013, and I have to say, Ann really helped me to understand the processes of 3D printing. And I found the programme Anarkik3D Design very helpful, especially as the programme is built particularly for artists like me – I found it much easier to create an object in 3D.”
Alexander Hope
“An excellent primer to the basic functions of the programme! The evening also proved to be an informative overview of 3D printing and the different qualities of various methods of creating designs and printing them in various materials. I feel quite confident of beginning to work in this software. Many thanks for a lovely and informative evening to Ann Marie!”
Breaks were well judged and offered a little chance for discussion and handling the printed artefacts. Maybe more could be made of the why do you want to do this session in terms of a networking opportunity, but in the time available the off screen time was about right. Very glad of the coffee as I was fasting maybe next time I’ll be able to have a biscuit.
Balance of input and hands-on was good and your judgement of when folk needed help and those less formal inputs was really good. 3-4 seems like a good group size for a solo event.”

“Yes, I think the best thing is that people see it and can lay their own hands on it to try it out! Then they will experience how easy to learn Anarkik3DDesign is. When I am that far I will show it to everyone that wants to see it! It will become well known in the future, I am sure of that!”
Masako Hamaguchi, Contemporary Designer Maker
“Oh what a wonderful time I had, trying out Cloud 9 / Falcon!
Of course it wouldn’t have been as much fun were it not for your very patient and effective guidance. Thank you so very much. (And, once again it was really nice to work together with you all, my lovely friends from the Netherlands!)”
James Taylor, 3D Enthusiast
“A few years ago, I saw an incredible demo which Ann Marie Shillito gave to a few of us in Hursley. It was like being able to reach inside the screen and mold objects. The sense of touch added another dimension in a way which 3D displays just never have for me. I would definitely recommend trying to get a demo if at all possible.”
Laura van Weegen
“Anarkik3DDesign is a highly intuitive piece of software so it doesn’t take long to get to grips with the basics and from there you can start having some fun. Also Ann Marie’s enthusiasm for all things 3D printed is catching, you’ve been warned, and now I just can’t wait to get started. Thanks for a great session.”
Elizabeth Armour, Contemporary Jeweller
“As a young contemporary jewellery designer, Anarkik3D Design software has provided me with a creative platform on which I can develop designs easily and experiment in 3D printing; producing models that I can make into wearable statement pieces and also accessible jewellery.
The organic, freeform nature of Anarkik3D Design means that I can completely engross myself in playing around with shapes, patterns and coming up with intricate pieces. Equally; quick 3D sketches can become some of my favourite designs. The haptic device allowing your sense of touch in the design process was a completely new experience for me and also makes the software very enjoyable to use- it’s good fun! Being able to ‘touch’ your design also really adds a distinct sense of control; your object isn’t totally lost to the element of serendipity that Anarkik3D Design provides.
The day courses with Anarkik3D have given me an enormous amount of support in terms of learning how to use and get the best out of the software. Including one-to-one tuition and a greater understanding of how 3D printing works as a service. Through these tutorial groups I have met designers, makers and artists from different backgrounds which is great for discussion, swapping ideas and networking; on Anarkik3D’s website and through dropbox I can see how others who have taken the course are using Anarkik3D Design to create unique designs and realize these in solid forms through 3D Printing.”
Jim Gilone
“The course was an excellent taster. Long enough to get a good feel for the set up and decide if it might be for you, without being so long it would cause your head to explode. It is a lot to take in and I really valued the opportunity to do more the next day to embed what I’d learned.”
Ursula Guttmann, Visual Artist
“I quickly could get an idea how to manage the program and to create objects. In the beginning I was critical about relying on a programme which was so easy to learn. I thought that a lot of action happens by accident and I could not control it in an adequate way.
But after working with Anarkik3DDesign for a longer time I realized that this was not true. It is truly possible to control your actions and also measure the objects and the interferences. It is possible to mirror and to double and to define the x, y, z axes. It is not sculpting in a lost space at all. After a while one also gets a feeling for the dimensions without measuring.
I think the program offers the right balance of intuitive creation mixed with parameters of control. Intuitive in the sense that it is connected to a 3D mouse and that it is easy to manage and learn the application.
The controlling options while sculpting could be a little more definable in my opinion. But this opinion could come from the fact that I am still not a practiced user.
For me it is also a great advantage that the program is available for Mac too. The installation went quickly and easy without any problems. This is surprisingly exciting as the Falcon 3D mouse existed for Windows only.
Additionally, Boolean options works fine too. This is often a problem in other applications as it needs a lot of calculation. To export the files in .stl is never a problem.
I will happily go on with Anarkik3D to work on my ideas and trying to get more practice to use it even better.
The program offers an easy start and therefore a lot of success and fun at the very first beginning. It is a perfect step to enter the world of 3D designing for professionals and non professionals.”
Lisa Arnott, Professional Jeweller, SilverHub Studios
“Yes I had a great time and can see a whole host of possibilities in terms of creating contemporary jewellery. The length of workshop was just enough time for me to understand the process and be introduced to the possibilities. Your teaching was gentle, reassuring, encouraging and gave me the confidence to feel that designing with this programme could be possible…
“It’s amazing that you have created such a programme that gives the maker the opportunity to ‘feel’ the object they are creating which as a designer maker is really important.”
Hiltje Wynia, Contemporary Jeweller
“It is my pleasure to let you know that I enjoyed the 3D course very much. You have proven to be an excellent teacher; I have enjoyed your personal instruction and appreciated the time you have given to me. While the course was very interesting, it was also very complicated. As a matter of fact I thought it was rather tough.
Now and then I got a bit confused, because of the rather large load of new information. Also I felt that there was not enough time between the different topics, that were taught. I would have liked more time to practise before a new chapter was treated. As a foreign language speaker, I had sometimes difficulties understanding the technicalities of the process; the technical language was so new for me.
Finally, I would like to tell you that I think the 3D course has proven to be an excellent course, which has given me new ideas about designing jewelry.”

“Thanks you so much again for your time on Monday. I loved working with Anarkik3D.”
Amanda McGrattan
“I would also like to take this opportunity to say thanks again for our class on Monday. I really enjoyed it and found it very helpful, even though I was a bit worn out by the end of the day. We are hoping to get our files sent to Sculpteo today.”
