We had a fantastic five days at Munich Handwerk&Design Fair. We had delighted responses from people of all ages, disciplines and professional status who had a hands-on demo of our haptic 3D modelling package, Anarkik3D Design.
The feedback from many designer makers and students confirmed that we are on the right trajectory regarding the development of our 3D modelling programme. Many visitors appreciated its straightforward interface and selected functionality because these are fundamental to enabling many to finally access 3D print technologies. Many were also delighted to find an alternate programme to standard CAD such as Rhino.

Six of our Anarkik Creators very generously loaned their work for display in the showcase we had on our stand. Therefore a very big thank-you goes to Farah Bandookwala, Elizabeth Armour, Genna Delaney, Izabela Petrut and to Birgit Laken who organised the work and set up the display which also included jewellery by Ann Marie Shillito. Birgit was also on the stand too, to answer questions about using A3DDesign and 3D print services. She helped with hands-on demos to all comers and showed how stunning the jewellery from our designers looks when it is being worn.

We exhibited a variety of jewellery in different styles so visitors could see the results of using our A3DDesign programme, that it not only enables organic forms to be created but also clean geometric constructions and fully coloured designs. Models are also easily 3D printed by saving them in .stl and .wrl file formats.

We thoroughly enjoyed giving hands-on demos throughout the five days of the Munich International Handwerk&Design Fair. We also enjoyed meeting up with friends and colleagues who were visiting the famous SCHMUCK exhibition of selected art jewellery from around the world. Birgit had jewellery from her fossilised wood series selected for this year’s SCHMUCK and we are very pleased for her that she received this lovely recognition for her work.

The STAGE events are a major feature of the Munich International Handwerk&Design Fair. Anarkik3D had three sessions. For one, Ann Marie Shillito and Birgit Laken discussed their different passionate advocacy of Anarkik3D Design programme. Ann Marie, as CEO of Anarkik3D Ltd continues the development of a very accessible and inclusive 3D modelling programme. Birgit spreads the word to encourage others to take up A3DDesign as an effective and easy-to-use tool in their practice.
Ann Marie also gave two powerpoint presentations, giving context to the advantages of using haptic technology for navigating the 3D workspace and for 3D modelling interventions and interactions. She highlighted the work of five of the designer makers using A3DDesign whose pieces were displayed on Anarkik3D’s stand. She showed her own work and explained how her design process is used to test and try out each new Anarkik3D development, function and feature before the release of updates and upgrades.
