Anarkik3D is collaborating with Applied Arts Scotland (AAS) to make loaning Anarkik3DDesign, with the haptic device, an affordable 3D modelling option for their Members. The haptic device is essential to this programme as it both enables you to touch and feel in 3D as you manipulate and form your model, and to move the cursor in all directions. The special offer on the monthly loan fee for the package includes the hardware with the haptic 3D modelling software.
Feedback from designer makers and students confirmed that Anarkik3D Design 3D modelling programme is on the right trajectory as it is focused on providing a straightforward interface and selected functionality, both fundamental to enabling many to finally access 3D print technologies. So many visitors delighted in finding an alternative programme to CAD.
Anarkik3D’s object for VADundee’s #myVADundee is, of course, its haptic 3D modelling software and here’s the reasons why: V&A Dundee, as an international centre of design, presents the brilliance of Scottish creativity: Anarkik3D is a young Scottish company that develops world leading haptic enabled software which makes designing in 3D inclusive! What is really remarkable about their 3D modelling product, Anarkik3D Design, is the haptics because haptic means touch! So with Anarkik3D Design you experience the WOW sensation of actually touching and feeling virtual 3D objects and their properties of hardness and softness and use this in designing. The off-the-shelf robot-like haptic device is pretty

This is how prototyping progressed. Update on the post below: October 2016: three units were 3D printed in paper in colour on Mcor’s new 3D printer, prototyping them to check whether the holes through the length of the units could be cleared easily and how best to do that. The design of the units was moving towards what I wanted. Mcor’s ARKe technology offers high deffinition colour and our Anarkik3D Design package has some exciting ways to crisply colour surfaces by using coloured objects with complex curves and boolean subtraction. Serendipity is a delightful element in Anarkik3D Design which can be explored and played with as unexpected
SlideShare presentation for #shemakes, a GirlGeekAcademy event in Melbourne, Austratia, 10th Sept 2016. Here is more information on each slide: Slide 1. My story: a career move from designer jeweller to running a software development company. The move seems a big leap but is really a very straight path helped along the way through collaborating with super techies and computer scientists and demonstrates the value that STEAM collaborations bring to innovation. Slide 2. My jewellery business specialised in using refractory metals such as titanium and niobium. Refractory metals are not easy to cut by hand but laser cuts them like butter and the technology made
We set up Anarkik Creations Ltd to create a place where we can bring together the jewellers using Anarkik3D’s haptic 3D modelling software, and 3D printing to produce amazingly delicious pieces, and the people who relish wearing such outstanding statement jewellery that makes them stand out from the crowd! A range of these pieces are currently available through our crowdfunding project. Go see if you dare: http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/anarkikcreations. The project ends at 7 pm GMT on 18th April 2016.
